CREDIT RISK ANALYST

Job Summary:

Responsible for loan reporting and credit administration processes; Reporting to the Board and Board Committees and providing guidance in the effectiveness of credit risk management controls, systems, and processes; Monitoring changes in financial performance of borrowers and assessing risks and trends specific to the various loan portfolio segments; Conducting periodic stress testing and developing and implementing the necessary tools for the overall credit risk management process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Calculate the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL) and make recommendations to executive management and the Board of Directors for quarterly allocations to the Loan Loss Reserve. This includes maintaining a current knowledge of changing regulation and best practices regarding the ALLL methodology and knowledge of third-party software to complete the ALLL analysis.
Ensure the creditworthiness of the loan portfolio, looking for changes that merit a review of lending practices and/or adverse asset classification. This includes but is not limited to validating the accuracy of the credit grading / loan rating system, identifying problem loans and related deficiencies, recommending credit grading for new and existing loans, identifying and evaluating portfolio trends with respect to delinquency, demographic and other factors, monitoring portfolio diversification in accordance with policy guidance, etc.
Perform migration analysis of the retail portfolio including the consumer, residential, and HELOC portfolios and assess concentration, asset quality, and risk migration trends to determine the impact on the overall loan portfolio creditworthiness and capital adequacy levels.
Stress test the loan portfolio and analyze the potential impact of adverse outcomes on the Bank's capital and allowance for loan losses. This includes conducting "what if' scenarios on key vulnerabilities; making a reasonable determination of how much impact the stress event or factor might have on earnings and capital; and incorporating the resulting analysis into the bank's overall risk management process.
Review financial spreads, credit analysis reports and other related information for accurateness in order to determine the general creditworthiness of credit/investment subjects and recommend appropriate loan structures.
Prepare spreads and credit analysis on an as needed basis, with an emphasis on large and complex transactions.
Monitor on an ongoing basis credit, economic and industry-specific issues that would impact the Bank's asset quality and allowance for loan losses.
Support and guide lenders and Loan Portfolio Officers and call their attention to problem loans and technical deficiencies.

Minimum Requirements:

At least five years of experience in Financial Analysis for Domestic and International Corporations, International Banks, Industry and Country Analysis or related experience or equivalent.
At least five years of experience in managing Credit Risk.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Proficient on Internet, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
