Information Security Officer

Job Summary:

The Information Security Officer (ISO) will design and enforce policies and procedures that protect the Bank’s computing infrastructure from all forms of security breaches. The ISO will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and working with the Bank’s IT department to resolve them, ensuring that our network and customer data remain secure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the frameworks, processes, tools and consultancy necessary for IT to properly manage risk and to make risk-based decisions related to IT activities.
  • Proactive identification and mitigation of IT risks as well as responding to observations identified by third party auditors or examiners while assisting in the development of periodic reports and dashboards presenting the level of controls compliance and current IT risk posture.
  • Identifying vulnerabilities in our current network.
  • Assist IT director and staff with the audits and facilitate management response and remediation efforts. Ensure overall IT compliance with regulatory requirements through proactive planning and communication, ownership and relationships.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to secure our computing network.
  • Monitoring network usage to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in IT security standards and threats.
  • Performing penetration tests to find any flaws.
  • Collaborating with management and the IT department to improve security.
  • Documenting any security breaches and assessing their damage.
  • Educating colleagues about security software and best practices for information security.
  • Maintain and support the Bank’s Information Security Program.
  • Ability to ensure standards and parameters for any systems on the Bank’s network are correct and as close to flawless as reasonably can be expected.
  • Identify acceptable levels of residual risk and assist with action plans, policy and procedural changes for risk mitigation. Provide strategic recommendations to key IT projects to help improve project results, quality of deliverables, risk optimization, security processes and compliance with regulations.
  • Receives allegations of security incidents and conducts complex investigations; prepares written findings, recommendations and follow up evaluation; and analyzes patterns and trends.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science or a technology-related field.
  • Professional information security certification.
  • General knowledge of banking and how a commercial bank operates.
  • Experience in an information security role.
  • Solid knowledge of various information security frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to educate a non-technical audience about various security measures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
